Delaying Twilight is a website about my families journey dealing with our mother's Alzheimer's; and hopefully will help others along their journey, when helping their own family members.
The title came from my memory of a nursing home in my home town. The Twilight Home. It always sounded peaceful and I can remember visiting many people there as a child; but it was never a place I ever wanted to see my mother end up. It always smelled funny and reminded me of a long term hospital where people go to die.
Thankfully nursing homes have come a long way. There are many options nowadays that are better, and many have a social director that can help keep the residents active.
I hope my blog can help others. I am here if someone needs guidance or just wants someone to listen. It really helps to know others who have faced the same problems.
